If one person is infected, sure. If neither person is infected -- no. Viruses do not occur by spontaneous generation. It isn't an orientation that causes them, its preexisting presence in one or the other partner.

Condoms are more effective than most studies funded by religious organizations try to assert, so be careful of who wrote the study you read, and ask a teacher from a PUBLIC school who is a statistician to help you interpret what you are reading.

You can get HIV from unprotected sex with anyone, gay or straight, male or female, although the female to male transmission rate is a lot lower then the male to female transmission rate or the male to male transmission rate, just because sperm carries HIV a lot easier then vaginal secretions do. Right now, the group with the highest risk for getting HIV is black women, not gay men. There are more gay men who have the disease, but thanks to new drugs and such, that is because they are living a lot longer. HIV/AIDS used to be a death sentance, and now with treatment it is not. But having sex with anyone without a condom is a very bad idea, and you can get plenty of other diseases besides AIDS.

And as for the tiny holes in condoms thing, that is a myth. Latex condoms, the most popular and availible kind (trojen, durex, magnum, etc), do not have tiny holes. Lambskin condoms, which used to be more common for people with latex allergies, have tiny holes that HIV can pass through, but they are rare and actually quite hard to find. See sources below.

AIDS can slip through some condoms, especially if you use the wrong kind (lambskin, for one). However, it is an effective agent when used in combination with a spermicide.

AIDS can be transmitted between any two people - not just gay/lesbian people - if they have unsafe sex. So if you choose to have sex, take the proper precautions.

You also did not mention that babies can contract AIDS if their mother has it. But true AIDS/sex education is not really your focus with this question, is it?

2 issues. Sexual orientation seems determined early in progression and is fastened by way of kind of the anxious gadget. supplementations won't be able to replace that. also, pyridoxine has actual no longer some thing to do with steroid hormones. in case you had low serotonin ranges (or any amine derived hormone) there will be a a threat mechanism, yet what you suggested replaced into only gibberish. Your appropriate article is fairly a non sequitur, except you ensue to have androgen insensitivity syndrome, that's an fairly uncommon difficulty that can not clarify homosexuality.

You can contract HIV from having fluid or soft tissue contact with someone who has AIDS or HIV. To say that gays have a lack of monogamy and are more at risk is simply ignorant. Some of the most fulfilling, stable, monogamous relationships I've ever seen have been homosexual ones, and I've met *plenty* of non-monogamous straight people.

Any time someone has unprotected sex (not using a condom) he/she is exposing him/herself to HIV. Someone once told me that when you are having sex with one person your are actually having sex with all of the other people that person has had sex with. While HIV/AIDS is the scariest, I guess, you can also get herpes (no cure), hepatitis (sick for months) and all of the various sexually transmitted diseases that, at the very least, can cause women to be infertile and men to get horrible pains in their lower abdomen.

From sexual orientation? No.

From sex? Yes.

But it doesn't matter if the person is gay, straight, or bi. The notion that only gay men get AIDS went out in th 80's, like legwarmers.

You can get a STD from anyone effected with a disease or someone who is a carrier. Gay sex is especially dangerous because of the lack of monogamy among Gays.

yes, you can get any kind of sexually transmitted disease from having sex with ANYONE. That guy could have had sex with a guy who had sex with a woman who had it or anything like that. You can get that disease by coming into contact with an infected area.

Transmission of AIDS
The three main transmission routes of HIV are sexual contact, exposure to infected body fluids or tissues and from mother to fetus or child during perinatal period. It is possible to find HIV in the saliva, tears, and urine of infected individuals, but due to the low concentration of virus in these biological liquids, the risk is negligible.
