I’m gonna share with you what I’ve learned about Rose water and about my experiences.
I was curious like you about what good can a Rose water do for me and I made a detailed researched. What I found out really surprised me. I’ve never expected that the most beautiful flower on earth can poses such powerful healing properties. What is even more interesting is that only the rose water produced from specific type of roses and in a specific way is beneficial for the skin and human’s health. There are approximately 7000 different species of roses but only few of them can produce rose water with therapeutic qualities. Rosa damascena, rosa centifolia and Rosa gallica are the top three roses used for high quality essential oil and rose water with healing properties. The best out of the three is the Rosa damascena.

All the sources agree that the finest Rose oil and Rose water are produced in Bulgaria in the valley of roses. Skin care specialist explained that fact by stating that the specific soil qualities and geographical exposition of the valley of roses in Bulgaria plus the long history of rose oil and water distillation in Bulgaria ( over 300 years) contribute for the exceptional qualities of the Bulgarian rose water.

I used it for a week and my skin dramatically improved. So give it a try! You are asking for store name and price - I found this place: royalessence.com and a bottle of 8 oz. Is $14.99. Also if you live in Newport Beach, California they offer it in “Hill Pharmacy” 1441 Avocado Ave. #101, Newport Beach CA 92660 ( the pharmacy is in a humongous medical center with dermatologists and non-surgical skin care specialists) .

N.B. About the rose water in some Indian and Arabic stores my opinion is that this water is great for cooking but I doubt about its healing properties because I’ve checked such rose water before and on the label and their website was no information about the type of roses they used, the method for making the rose water and which part of the rose they used which are crucial details for the quality and healing properties. I asked once the owner of one Arabic store can her water be used for the face and she answered that people use it for cooking.

Also, if you have lots of free time you can try making your own rose water but the results will be dramatically different, you’ll spend the same money and the rose water will not have the healing properties of the genuine rose water( it may smell like rose water but it does not mean that it’ll work great on your face- and the roses which you are going to buy from the flower store have no therapeutic properties because they are grown with chemicals and other stuff just to look good- very rarely a rose from a store smells like a rose).

Good luck!

I don't know. I'm looking for rose water too. Try this recipe for making it at home yourself:
Ingredients
2-3 quarts fresh roses or rose petals
water
ice cubes or crushed ice

1. In the center of a large pot (the speckled blue canning pots are ideal) with an inverted lid (a rounded lid), place a fireplace brick. On top of the brick place the bowl. Put the roses in the pot; add enough flowers to reach the top of the brick. Pour in just enough water to cover the roses. The water should be just above the top of the brick.

2. Place the lid upside down on the pot. Turn on the stove and bring the water to a rolling boil, then lower heat to a slow steady simmer. As soon as the water begins to boil, toss two or three trays of ice cubes (or a bag of ice) on top of the lid.

3. You've now created a home still! As the water boils the steam rises, hits the top of the cold lid, and condenses. As it condenses it flows to the center of the lid and drops into the bowl. Every twenty minutes, quickly lift the lid and take out a tablespoon or two of the rose water. It's time to stop when you have between a pint and a quart of water that smells and tastes strongly like roses.

Hope that works!

Rose flower water or floral water is the premium as it is created as just that, it is unmistakable as the aroma and rose qualities are very high!

There is a common practise to use the "by-product water" from essential oil distillation which creates an inferior product, often sold as the same but clearly different. The quantities and qualities vary from batch to batch and therefore it is very difficult to get consistently the same. In some cases the water is adulterated to mask the low rose content.

Would recommend you look for the USDA logo for organic product. You can try the products from Ecomaat Bulgaria, they operate an organic and ethical environmental policy. Available through www.oildeology.com

Hi Sea
Rose Water is made from rose petals soaked in steaming water for 40 minutes. It is then poured through a sieve to remove petals and other bits. Next the water is poured through a close weave cloth to remove anything the sieve missed. You can make your own rose water by doing this just keep it in the fridge. Be sure to use it up within 1 month. Rose water can be very astringent so use sparingly.
Hopes this Helps..

I know for a fact that Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works sell it.

For a less pricy option, go to a middle eastern grocery store. It's used frequently in many middle eastern countries, so large bottles of it are kept in stock there.
