I love my name.
It even has a story. When I was born, my mom wanted to name me after her oldest brother who died before I was born.
His name was Gerald. But she hated the name Geraldine. So she looked for similar names in a baby name book and came up with "Germaine", which is a French girls name.
But to me, it will always mean relevant even though that word is spelled germane.

I changed my name six months ago. People that are important to me never actually called me by my real name, so I did what my stupid parents should have done 28 years ago when they decided to give me a nickname.

Growing up I hated my name because people always pronounced it incorrectly. After I became an adult I was standing in front of my mirror one day and I whispered my name and it has sounded wonderful to me ever since!
