As others have said, it depends on what you want to use it for.
Alienware makes nice gaming computers that are well priced in comparison to their competitors. Their style is what attracts some and repels others; funky colors, plastic all around in roundish shapes, blue, red , alien green, etc. They are very nice Windows Machines.
Macs aren't very suited to gaming due to the fact that they are a small minority. The "Apple Tax", as some like to call it, is the increase in cost to get something with the Mac tag on it. Some say it's a worthless premium; others say it's the price of quality.
Mac OS X is stable and has a lot of great apps (i.e. GarageBand and iMovie). It, as a minority (and more securely designed to boot) is less susceptible to infection. People have tried with little success.
So, which is better?
Alienware is better (by a huge shot) for gaming. It is among the top of the line Windows PCs, very powerful. If you prefer Windows, I'd say Alienware. You get better value too.
Now, if you want a computer that doesn't get viruses, works well, and looks sleek doing it, look no further than a Mac. Less maintence with some really cool apps and easy to use.
Hope this helps!

however i understand no longer some thing about Macs, i visit aspect with them. Why? because they're more cost effective to purchase than Alienware. Alienware are customary for his or her suped up gaming pcs. yet you could construct the very similar pc for a fragment of the fee. Alienware's mark-up of fee is outrageous and therefore i have under no circumstances been prepared on a corporation that loves to tear off the final public with an excessively suped up gaming pc.

Although I know nothing about Macs, I'm going to side with them. Why? Because they're cheaper to purchase than Alienware.
Alienware are known for their suped up gaming PCs. But you can build the exact same computer for a fraction of the cost. Alienware's mark-up of price is outrageous and therefore I've never been a fan of a company that likes to rip off the general public with an overly suped up gaming computer.
