A guy who works as a PCW at the hospital told a friend that people with O- blood are sterile. I don't want to believe him, because that doesn't make a lot of sense. But my friend is really worried about this, as he is O-.

PCW's (personal care workers) are people who help the patients with partial mobility (elderly or sergical patients) bathe, eat, use the toilet, etc.

Considering O- is the most common blood type, that would mean a lot more people would be sterile then there are, so no.

No! Having O- blood does not make one sterile in any way. Having Kleinfelter's (XXY chromosomes) or Cartagener's syndrome (lack of motile cilia) will make you sterile as a man and having Turner's syndrome (XO chromosome abnormality) will make a woman sterile. Perhaps he saw this XO syndrome and misinterpretted it. Tell him not to worry and to see his family doctor for reassurance.

I wouldn't think so, seeing as how my son's daddy is O-. Take it how you will but I certainly got pregnant some how by him, so I think that would take care of that myth pretty well.
