Give yourself at least one month to adjust, maybe two. Whenever I first started birth control pills it took my body about 2 months to adjust, but that was a few years ago, the hormones in Yasmin are supossed to be much milder than the ones in the pills I started on.

Give yourself some time, it does get better. However, if you notice you are getting sick and/or severely depressed, call your doctor.

I was on another pill for around 4 years (Diane-35) but then I move to the States and that brand is not sell here. So my OB/GYN prescribed Yasmin. First of all I hate the taste of it, and as you I started feeling depressed, I gained weight, experienced headaches and was feeling really miserable. But still I gave it time and after 2 months still was feeling really crappy. Specially at the end of the package just before my period, the headaches and the PMS was HORRIBLE! So I stayed on it until I traveled to my contry and got Diane-35 again. Now I am a happy woman again!. Here in the US you can ask your doctor for Orthro-tri-cyclen. It is supposed to be like Diane-35, low hormones, very soft in your body and good pregnancy protection. Good luck!

You should give your body at least a full month before you discontinue using your birth control you just may need some time to adjust. But you should inform your doctor of what has been going on with your body just in case he may want to take you off immediately.

Normally, I takes about two-three weeks for your body to adjust to the changes. Remember you are dealing with hormones.

Give yourself a month to adjust, unless it becomes unbearable. Then go back to your doctor and talk to her/him
