Geez...some of these answers...

Michael Johnson holds the current world record for the 400m run (Outdoors) and it's 43.18, which he set in 1999

Indoor records don't get IAAF ratification so at best they're considered unofficial. But Kerron Clement did break MJ' s indoor record of 44.63 when he ran 44.57 at the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2005.

Currently, Jeremy Wariner has the fastest time since MJ retired, his PR of 43.93 in winning 2005 World Championships

Kerron Clement? Nah, it's Michael Johnson, 43.18, real fast. I think he ran it in 1998 in Seville.
