This laptop keeps overheating. The fan is obviously working. I have very little memory left, so i'm dumping some of my movies/music files to make room. I think I have a virus, so i'm downloading Norton tonight. But why do you think it keeps overheating? What could it be? Has anyone experienced this? how much does it cost to fix?

If you are comfortable in opening the notebook, I would suggest you to go though the troubleshooting steps given in the link below. It would also be advisable that you call up Dell and inform them about the issue. If the system is within warranty, you might get a part replacement or an onsite service as well.

Get a cooling pad. Mine does wonders! They might be a little pricey, but well worth it in the long run because if your laptop keeps overheating, it can kill the computer.

Here's one place you can find them!
