It's not the same. One of the advantages of breast feeding is that the baby gets antibodies from the mother to fight against infections of different kinds. That doesn't happen with formula.
See the link below for more advantages... to both the baby and the mother.

Your baby shouldn't get sick from formula but there is that slight chance. I found that the powder formula was better for my babies as a supplement and even when I stopped nursing. I do ask that you give breast feeding a trying because it's a bond between you and your baby that is so special. I breast fed both of my babies and if I had to do it all over again I would. It's something that can hardly be described.

It's not the same. For one thing, it costs MONEY!
(The breast milk is free! - wink.)
And breast milk is thought to be superior in many ways - providing your antibodies and white blood cells to your infant, promoting bonding, and of course, as superior nutrition.
Breast feeding requires a real commitment, and it takes some time to learn. But it IS possible for the vast majority of women to do it very successfully. And, with the help of a handy breast pump, you can still enjoy alcohol from time to time, or give someone else a chance to feed the baby.
However, babies don't die from drinking formula, it's certainly not going to *hurt* your baby.

Most babies will not get sick on formula, but breast feeding is best. It provides the most nutrients to the baby.

Nothing is the same as BF ing.Do you mean get sick as in more colds and sickness then yes that will happen because youe not giveing your baby the antibodies from you anymore. If you mean sick as from the formula then that can happen to but only every now and then. They can have a milk allergy and in that case that would be bad.BF ing is so much better.

Breastfeeding is BEST! There are nutrients in breast milk that just can't be man-made in formulas. Breast milk is also easier on a baby's gentle digestive system. Some babies are also very allergic to formulas....and I know of some parents that had to buy very expensive brands in order for their babies to tolerate it! Go with breastfeeding....but if you can't.....your baby won't get sick from formula....just talk to your pediatrician about which one is best for your child! But the benefits of breastfeeding are just endless compared to that of formula.....I can't emphasize that enough!

Is orange juice the same as Tang?
No, they're not the same. Your baby won't get sick from formula, but she will be much healthier.
