He's not intelligent enought to make up his own mind, so he relies on others to tell him what to say, but they all have different ideas as to what he should say, so he sounds like an idiot.

He's arrogant, and doesn't like to listen when others tell him he's wrong. He feels that his beliefs are right simply because they are his beliefs. A little arrogance gives confidence, but too much just makes you a bully and a self-focused jerk.

He's a believer. Not a thinker. If you believe strongly enough in something it removes you from being responsibile for the consequences of your actions.
