there could be several reasons why this is happening, I give you to top two things to look for. 1st. On your units outer casing there should be a hole in the bottom of the case or on the back end of the case near the bottom. some have both. this holes or lips are to let the condensation drip from the unit. if there pug ed with dirt and sediment the water has no place to go and builds up and come inside the unit. 2nd. try tipping the air conditioner on more of an angle tipping the back end lower then the sill end. so all water will run out the back end of the unit. if this don't solve the problem you may have a problem with the condenser unit and need to take it to the shop for repair or cleanning.

RE:
Why is my air conditioner (a window unit) be leaking water inside my room?
It recently started dripping water to the inside, not outside. Even if I lower it down to low cool or pretty much at any setting its doing the same thing. What could it be, and how can I fix it?

Water is leaking inside my room from the front of the air conditioner. Why is it doing this?
The evaporator coils on the front of the air conditioner create water, which normally goes through a drain system to the back of the unit where the water is evaporated away. In this case, the drain is probably plugged and the water is running towards the front instead of the back and leaking out. This is another sign that it is time to bring the a/c into a repair shop for a full cleaning.

The backside (I assume you mean the portion normally outside) has to be isolated (completely surrounded generally by a window and frame) from the frontside. The backside contains the condenser which must be outside, and the front side contains the evaperator which must be inside. Facing the unit at the window will result in hot air collecting near the window and cooler air blowing from the unit, but will not cool the room. Additionally, the condensed water will leak out of the back of the unit.

As your air conditioner runs, water condenses on the evaporator and then runs off. There are suppose to be a drain that lead outside so the water can run off. If that drain is clogged, the water has no place to go and instead run out in to your room. You need to check and see it the drains are clear, and if not, run a toothpick or something through them to clear them.
Hope this helps

I m having the same problem and my unit is new. My landlord installed it and it is dripping A LOT inside. About a gallon a day. How can I adjust it so its tilted lower outside? Is it heavy? What type of repair man can I call to do this for me?

Tilt the conditioner, so that the rear is lower than the front.
Then check the drain hole, it may be missing the elbow. If it is, the easiest way to fix it, is to measure the diameter of the drain, and buy some rubber hose at the hardware store to fit it.
Then you can run the hose to a safe drainage area.
Good luck.
