Every now and then he gets hot and sweaty and also flushed looking. His color is kind of grayish a little (he's black). He vomits up clear liquid and he says he's dizzy. This only happens about once every 2 or 3 months and it's usually at night. I called 911 one night but he didn't want to go to the ER. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I almost forgot, sometimes he gasps for air.

It could possibly a panic attack. Does it usually happen during a stressful time at work or something? Many of those sypmtoms are consistant with people who have panic disorders. I suggest going to an anxiety disorders website, and maybe even looking into medication. Another symptom is worrying about it for at least a week after one happens. Also, the thing about night is it allows your mind to relax, meaning stressful thoughts get through more easily. I hope this helps you.

Just so you know, it happens to often for it to be a heart attack. He would probably be dead right now if it were. However, that doesn't rule out a heart problem. You should probably go see a doctor. I just thought I would reinforce what the other responders were saying. I really think there is a good chance of it being a panic attack. I have a lot of experience with them. Also ask him if he feels he is in danger of dying during the episodes, and if he has every struggled with anxiety

www.adaa.org is a good webite to check his sypmtoms against those of panic disorder.

I really hopes this helps you.

Check his pulse rate and blood pressure for sure. If he has these episodes after being very physically active, or being very stressed, it could be either anxiety attacks, angina or a mild heart attack. Regardless, he should make an appointment with his physician and have tests run to make sure before he has a major attack. Call and make the appointment for him - it could save his life.

No offense, but kick his rear into the ER if you have to. Tell him to stop being a 'man' and to let things drop. Sometimes we all need a little help!

For pity sake, he's sick, he could have an ulcer, or maybe theres something else really wrong. What if it were some stomach cancer? I honestly think you should force him into going, he needs to. Tell him if he won't do it for himself, to do it for you!

He needs treatment!! If you don't know and he doesn't then he could really be hurting on his insides. I mean come on it's better to go to the hospital than die! If my husband did that to me I'd say well I don't wanna live the rest of my life alone!!!

My ex-mother in law would do the same thing every once in a while, she was on heart medication. You might want to have your hubbys ticker tinkered with.

Goodness....he definitely should see his doctor about this. Has he had his blood pressure checked lately? Does he experience migraines? Is he diabetic? It could be anything....get him an appointment soon and have it checked out.
