I bought a used iMac os 8.5.1. they asked password but I don't have one coz it used one, what should I do?

I got a old imac at thrift store.
Someone used this computer before. when I turnd on, they asked me passward. but I dont have any password.I dont have any optional CDs,,
what should I do?

If it's a bios password use "Killcmos" other than that you need to reformat and install a fresh OS.

ask the previous user for the password
