Jesus stayed out of politics. so it is hard to transfer what he taught in that day to present times, politically speaking.
Example; Because he saved the woman caught in the act of adultery, does that mean he would be against ALL death penalty cases?
And, if you noticed, while he saved her, he didn't back down on saying she was wrong. ("Go & sin no more.") I can imagine liberals screaming, "Who are you telling her what to do with her own body!"
He obviously wanted the poor to be taken care of, but does that mean he would have wanted the government to be in charge of it? And 50% of the rich man's income being confiscated to pay for it? That sounds more like Robin Hood than Jesus Christ!
He said you have to pay your taxes, but would he have voted for a politician who advocated fixing things by higher taxes?
He taught obedience to the government, but does that mean he wanted a big government?
I can't imagine Jesus being anything but disgusted by mid to late- term abortions, but the Bible is not specific on the subject. The issue of "when life begins" would have to be answered, first.
But as far as issues like trade unions and strong regulation of business, strong environmental regulations, animal rights & gun control, it's hard to say, exactly.
BTW - The mythology of Mary Magdalene is that she was a REFORMED prostitute. But there isn't actually anything in the Bible to support the notion she ever was a prostitute.
NOW, as to why ANYONE would fork over money to the likes of Bennie Hin is beyond me!
P.S. You can always count on KooKoo Bananas to spit out the hatred, can't you?

Two reasons:
1. Because Christians want to impede the moral decay of society.
2. Because Christians have faith in God, not government.
Government programs are mind-numbingly inefficient. Benny Hinn may be a fraud but he's small time compared with government welfare, and his followers are still paying taxes.
Liberals like paying high taxes because they feel less guilty when they drive past a poor neighborhood. Christians are compelled by love to help those in need. They go to that neighborhood and start a church, becoming part of the community in order to offer more effective aid.
Allowing yourself to be defrauded by the government does nothing to change the status of the poor. Welfare programs are designed to perpetuate a lower class, ensuring the continuous reelection of liberal politicians.
If you really believe that the government is the most effective way to help the poor, when was the last time you donated more money than you owed to the IRS?
It's a shame that those who do so little to improve the lives of others are the first to attack Christians.

Wow, do you ever have a shallow understanding of Jesus and Christianity. Jesus was not political.
As for Bennie Hinn, what does it matter that he may have a $10,000 suit? Bill Gates has a house whose floor space is measured in acres and his original partner has a boat with a helicopter and submarine launch--why do we keep throwing money at them in order to have a machine to ask or answer stupid questions or play solitaire on? Economic choices are choices. One guy sends some online scam some money and another guy sends Bennie Hinn some money, and still another sends some politician some money. There were more than a few Christians that sent bunches of bucks to help Edwards buy hairspray. Jesus didn't direct, ordain, or even necessarily approve of the hairspray dollars any more than Hinn's suit. Look up the term non-sequitor and see how it applies to your question.

If Jesus came back to earth and started his own ministry, he wouldn't be wearing $10,000 suits, driving an $80,000 car or living in a mansion. He'd be preaching out of a tent, probably driving a 10 year old Toyota, and spending most of his time with the homeless and the downtrodden people in the world. Benny Hin, Oral Roberts, the Pope, aren't worthy of looking at his feet, let alone worshiping at them.

Jesus wasn't liberal or conservative. He was only interested in getting you( and everyone else) into Heaven. And so should you be. Politics will mean nothing in Heaven. Bennie Hin is a man, not a God. If you don't believe in what says or does ignore him. Eternal life is the prize---

Oh yes, jesus was a very political figure. he proclaimed that he was king of the jews. A king almost always a political leader. When the romans nailed him to the cross for the proclamation it didnt have anything to do with religion. It was politics.
As for conservatives christians in the US, they would follow the devil if he cut taxes, waged war on islam, banned abortion and crimilized flag burning.
Oh wait! They already do!!!

i love it when liberals say Jesus was liberal Lol. Jesus is in the middle if anything...neither democrat nor republican. Jesus threw the money lenders out cuz they were selling things in Church, not the place to trade and sell in the Holy temple. He took a prostitute around with him?? she had repented, she wasnt a prostitute if u read the bible u would read Jesus cast out like 7 demons in the prostitute. i dont agree with benny hinn's whole on tv miracle telecast on tbn i will agree with that one, but how do you get jesus was liberal? did Jesus encourage gay marriage like libs do? did Jesus encourage abortion like libs do?? NO. read the bible, learn about Jesus, get back to me when you know bout that good luck

I would never give money to Bennie Hin (whoever he is) to wear $10k suits. But I do have to vote conservative because American Liberals keep trying to take God out of everything- out of gov't, out of schools, out of our holidays. That's why they keep losing, and why Republicans can get big wins with stuff like the gay marriage issue and flag burning- because people care about God, and Liberals keep ignoring, denying or defiling that idea.

If you look at the time period and the beliefs of the time... Jesus was clearly a kooky liberal... preaching peace and love... not preaching against the roman occupiers... not stoning people for things that everyone stoned people for... and a love and respect for the poor.... he went against the norms of the day... all those things we're so off center, I mean they are off center today even
The thing that I don't get personally... is Jesus was about love, yet many of the vocal Christians today clearly have a "hate" of sinners... yelling at someone that they are going to hell is far from the approach that Jesus would've used...
You show people who you are through love... the world is full of hate, when you project hate, you are not of Jesus, but of the world...

Actually Christians would not care at all for any kind of Politics. All they care for is to tell every body that Jesus Loves them. For example I sat ion a seat in a bus next to another man. He started speaking in Spanish. when he found that I was not understanding he started speaking in English. He said "Jesus told me to tell you that he loves you." That made me real mad like Jesus was in direct contact with the man.
Christians really think that they would burn in hell if they don't convert every man they come into contact with. That is not conservative politics. That is viiolating other's right.
