is there any part of internet options that you can tweak with to get a better broadband connection,as i can remember reading a article in pcadvisor about pc..tweaking and it was mentioned about increasing a port number? or something like that
i find that if i delete temp internet files twice a day you keep i\e on top form,i worked this out when i did,nt delete them for 2 weeks and the internet ran at snails pace
i have heard of a disc called onspeed which can speed up broadband x3,but how does the disc work,you pay £25 for it,and get a years onspeed,is that right?

Make your computer run faster.

1. Add more RAM. 2GB should pretty much max you out.
2. Stop unused programs. Use MSCONFIG and other utilities to prevent programs from autostarting. Use Task Manager to KILL programs that you don't use.
3. Keep only the windows open that you are using.

More importantly, if you are using a P2P program to download, DO NOT WALK AWAY. Instead, verify each and every download, so your computer does not get infected.

First, there is no 300mbps for stressed out. criteria are 10mbps, 100mbps and 1000mbps for stressed out (ethernet) connections. I tried Onspeed and i didn't find it that great to be honest. It would allow me to log on then tell me there were 'problems at this time' and pack up. But then i was using it with a fairly rotten dial up connection at the time so it might be better with broadband.

most of the services/programs that claim to increase speed don't. they load cached versions of websites. their is a tweak in firefox to enable multiple connections to download a site faster, but this doesn't increase the speed of your connection. you should do a speed test and see how your connection compares to others.

broadband runs a a set pace theres nothing that u can do to speed it up the only thing that u can speed up is your system it all comes down to how fast your computer is damn i shold have invested in computers yrs ago when i was young and stupid ... hmmm

your box thats outside your computer should have lites blinking and if theres no lites blinking then there sould be a button that says stand by bush it and lites should came on and if they dont i dont no wats wrong
