But yet they are more than willing to accept defeat for our toops by the IED's and bullets of terorists? Clearly the Al Zarqai letter proves that American & Iraqi troops are progressing and the rebellion is dying.

kookoo - still counting troop deaths. that's something to be proud of. The more doom & gloom for troops and America = good for democraps. That's truly sad that you need troop deaths to have a good day! And you wonder why your party is in shambles and losing!

To the rest of you liberals - if iraq was the wrong place to go - then why did your representatives authorize the president to invade! Your guys should of stood up in congress and suggested Pakistan - a member of the nuclear club. I think invading a country in possesion of nukes would have been much more benefical than taking out Saddam. Besides your short memories have forgotten that there were 14 UN resolutions broken by Saddam. And that the president did state that Iraq, Iran & NK were the axis of evil that harbours terrorists. Iraq was 1st and Iran is on the radar screen.

The problem with alot of liberals is they are fast at placing blame and making sure when the conservatives mess up they make a heck of a noise. When its them making mistakes they stay pretty quiet. They know that the policies are working, but they won't talk about that all they can talk about is what isn't working over there and in truth that just brings down the American moral and makes the public think its a failure. Its just liberal propaganda

His policy in Iraq is a long term one. We went after the Taliban in Afghanistan and Osama is in hiding. That was revenge and justice for 9/11. What fosters and promotes the hatred against America? The tyrannical and corrupt regimes like Saddam's. If a better way can take root there, and spread, in time other nations in the region like Syria, Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the like will adopt more democratic and tolerent ways and be less of a threat to anyone.

So the goal of our invasion was to throw the sovereign country of Iraq into civil war? You're right, we did a "heckofa" job.

"To the rest of you liberals - if Iraq was the wrong place to go - then why did your representatives authorize the president to invade!" How about because our president lied to the entire nation, scaring us all in to the belief that Iraq had a huge surplus of WMDs?!? Had we known the truth, that there WERE NO WMDs, than maybe the Dems would have voted differently.

Why don't conservatives admit that we went in for all the wrong reasons and that the Bush administration has been lying to us from Day 1? I seem to remember in the 2000 campaign that Mr. Bush repeated over and over again that he wasn't going to get into the business of nation-building. That was Lie #1, and he has done nothing but tell more lies ever since!

uhh because iraq is on the brink of civil war
because bush has spent trillions of dollars and there are more terrorists in the world than there ever have been
if these policies are so effective and working, why are there new body bags being sent home everyday? why is there violence constantly on the news? why are 7 of 10 people in america convinced that they aren't working?

They can't accept it because if they did, they'd be admitting they are wrong, and they don't want to ever admit something like that. Same goes for the conservatives too.
Be careful taking full stock in the letter. It isn't written in the style of other letters/blogs so it may not be from him or his co-horts.

The "rebellion" was "in last throes" two years ago. You don't remember that? That was back when soldier casualties were at 1000, and now it's 2500. Yet you STILL fall for the lies you tell yourself.
