Yea...I write songs all the time. I think the first time I wrote a song I was probably 4 or 5 and me and my friends were pretending like we were in a band. lol. But I think writeing is really fun and a good way to express yourself...That and listening to music are the things I do to calm down or get out my feelings.

I've been writing songs since I was 16. If you got drive and ambition you might be able to take this much farther. If you have a style that you like, perfect it. There is no reason to learn to write Jazz, or Country if you are only into Techno. Depeche Mode never wrote a country tune, however they took one and made it techno. Do what you want to do and do what makes you happy. Song writing is an expression of your soul.

Yes I have written many songs. I start out by catching the melody and I go on from there, sometimes when I write they start out as poems then I get a melody and start singing the words. It is a great fom of expression continue it can relieve stress too. Good Luck

I wrote one many years ago with my sister & cousin. We even wrote a tune to go with it, and I played it on the synthesizers.

Not bad for 2 ten year olds & a 12 year old. I sang it to my hubby the other day & he was impressed.

It was called "Are you ready for the sunshine?" I can't tell you the rest as you might pinch it, have a number one hit, become very rich & then drink too much & take too many drugs - so think of it as I'm saving your life!!!!!!

Congratulations.
Don't sit on your azz and be satisfied.
Now, re-arraigned it...if you wrote a rock-style song, try to change it into a jazz-flavored tune.

ALWAYS look for new ways to twist, turn and expand your music.
Do NOT get complacent.
Keep learning, keep playing, keep writing.

Oh, yeah - I've written a few songs myself.

Pretty sure I've written about 30.
I guess that's what you gotta do when you are the lead singer/songwriter in a band.
