I know that I can choose who can read and see things that I post at a personal page or blog, but I've heard that, once you put something online, this can be found by anyone who knows how to properly search. Is this true? How? What can I do to protect my privacy?

I'm most concerned about pictures, since I'd like to share some of myself,my family and the place where I live, but only with a few close friends.I also worry about personal information and about my writings. What should I do?

Thank you for any help and personal experience shared!:)

Share only what you believe that you would want shown in newspapers.

So if you want your credit card number in the newspapers....

LEARN all that you can.

Use a firewall

Zone Alarm is a terrific firewall program that may help prevent popups and other problems on your computer.

If you only plan to share these pictures or writings with a few friends, email them. Don't post personal writings or anything in general you don't want strangers to see on your blog, myspace, or whatever personal page you have. Ha, I feel like McGruff the crime dog.
