Click Start -> Run. Type in "regedit" (no quotes) and hit Enter.

Search for HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ System.

Look for: DisableTaskMgr. Click on REG_DWORD. Value: 1=Enable this key (disables TaskManager); Value: 0=Disable (actually enables TaskManager)

Close RegEdit

Reboot your machine.

Right click on the task bar, (usually at the bottom of your monitor screen), and choose task manager...
Or press CTRL, ALT, DELETE and choose task manager

The administrator of your computer has diabled this function. If he/she is good, edit registery function should been disabled too and you won't be able to do the following.

create a file call enableTM.reg. copy the content below the line to the file.

---------------------------start copy----------------------------

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"DisableTaskMgr"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system\]
"DisableTaskMgr"=dword:00000000

-------------------------------end copy --------------------------------

double click on enableTM.reg.

OR you could edit the key directly:
Start | Run | regedit

Disclaimer: Modifying the registry can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. I cannot guarantee that problems resulting from modifications to the registry can be solved. Use the information provided at your own risk.

If Ctrl-Alt-Delete fails to work, you can try entering "taskmgr" or "taskmgr.exe." directly into the Run command prompt.

I tried it and it worked.
