In my opinion the Spurs already have respect. Going into this year's playoffs they were seen as the team to beat. I'm sure that teams around the league respect the Spurs because of their toughness in possessing several players who can cause damage to opposing teams (i.e. Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili). After the Lakers disbanded and fell from glory, the Spurs took over as the big team in the West. After losing to Dallas in round 2, I'm sure that they'll come back better and stronger next season.

I think thaat they already have respect. Every team in the league fears them (besides the Pistons), but they need to do something that the never did to recive greatness, win titles back to back, Like that Lakers and the Bulls did.

After their third they started getting respect...so I guess three. Oh and in case you didn't notice, they got knocked off in the second round.

They have to go back to back at least once they win and then they get careless the following year.
