Do men have mistresses for any other reason except sex?

Sure. Arguably, even those that have a mistress for sex don't ACTUALLY have them for sex -- they have them for variety.
Life can get boring, and there are many ways to alleviate that boredom. Some people choose to have mistresses, and in almost all cases it becomes a recurring thing, because a new person only alleviates the boredom for a while.
Not saying this is a good thing, mind you; just that that's how it is.

Not usually, but it happens. Sometimes they have them because they foolishly married some dumb bimbo who can't carry on a conversation and they want to have an intelligent conversation with someone that they are attracted to.
I have a friend who thought he'd died and gone to heaven when he married a pretty girl with the IQ of a turnip, but after a few years, he longed for the ability to sit around, have a glass of wine, and discuss issues of importance with a woman.
He learned, as most women know all along, that the brain is a sex organ.
He ended up having a lengthy affair with an attractive woman (not a bombshell, but a pretty woman) who was very bright and witty and all the things his gorgeous, large breasted, dumb wife was not.
He's probably in the minority. Most men just want to prove to themselves that they've still "got it".

yes it depends on the guy .some do ti just to get back at a cheating wife! while others do it just because there home life is lacking some where. as for me I prefer having a complete partner well rounded (not perfect) and willing to explore sex with there spouse, all that he desires and you wont want or need a Mistress.

In order for someone to seek out another person other than their spouse, there is obviously something missing within the marriage. Not necessarily sexual, but that missing element drives the person to seek that something elsewhere and usually manifests itself in the form of a sexual encounter with another person. This will never solve the problem within the marriage, but may be an easy way out of the marriage once the affair is exposed.

That's all it is the sex part cause if he wanted more..she wouldnt be the mistress she'd be the wife...

i think that is what it is in the begining... and SOMETIMES things never change... but sometimes, some man loses his head and thinks leaving his family so he can be with "the other woman" is the right answer.... but, in the begining it's just about sex.

Maybe because they are more interesting, more fun. Non-complaining,can actually have a conversation, is not judgemental,and not a *****.
