You can use limewire or bearshare, however I believe it is still illegal if you dont pay a subscription to a site, as you are still pirating material that artists are entitled royalties for. A recent downloader of limewire was recently taken to court and fined a horendous amount of money.

First go to http://winamp.com and download a player/ripper; then, got to http://shoutcast.com and select your favorite genre.

You can listen and record all of the commercial-free MP-3's that you want. The Winamp ripper will store all of the music you record to your music file.

Try eMule.com - it´s free - you´ll have to instal the download software but then you´ll be able to download music in all kinds of formats, aswell as videos & other stuff.

1.limewire (the best performance and wide media library)
2. ares (good one but not excellent)
3. kazaa (worst performance, widest media library)
I recommend limewire. kazaa-lite must be the last choice.
have fun.
