The weather in England is notoriously rainy. So they have an "official" celebration in June, when the weather is usually perfect. That way they can bring out all the Guards and bands, and have a big parade, and it won't get rained out.
There is a less formal remembrance in April, on her real birthday.

In fact, she has three!
The first is May 24, which is the day traditionally set aside to celebrate the Monarch's birthday. It used to be Queen Victoria's birthday, and the monarchy just decided that rather than confuse the populance by switching dates (like they never noticed there was a new king!) they would just carry on with that date.
The Queen Elizabeth's actual birthday comes in April, but it is celebrated only by the family. And of course, those dedicated Queen watchers who stand outside the palace every day.
The new 'official' day is June 12, and it was chosen because the weather is better in June than it is in April. I guess that's as good a reason as any.
PS: That doesn't mean the Queen ages by multiples of three, however. She's only 80, not 240...

The Queen doesn't actually have 2 birthdays.. her actual birth day is in April (I think it's the 28th of April.. something like that) but, they put on a big celebration in June instead because the weather is traditionally MUCH better in England in June than it is in April, which is usually cool, wet, and rainy.
Wouldn't you prefer to celebrate your birthday in NICE weather?

Im not 100% sure, but i think one is her actual birthday and the oher is her coronation thingy?!
My nan thinks shes the Queen!! For 84years, my nan celebrated her own birthday on 21st march, but for some reason she had to get a birth certificate and it turns out her birthday was on 20th March...that was 8years ago!!
All those years of celebrating on the wrong day! now shes 92 years old and does her double birthday celebrations!!!

There are two because one is the date that the nation officially commemorates the birthday of the sovereign, and the other is the date that the sovereign was actually born.

because the king whose birthday was in november didn't like cold weather and didn't like to celebrate his birthday in cold weather and he ordered all sovereigns to celebrate their birthdays in july, but since the queen has birthday in april she celebrates it as well
