Troop, according to Allmusic.com got its start winning $1,000.00 in a talent show. Their song Mamacita went to number two on the R&B chart in '89. The album Deepa had the cut Hot Water.

Deepa was a departure from their Jackson 5 and New Edition sound of earlier in their carreer. This album was more Hip Hop and soul. Deepa is called the best album they made, but Hot Water as a song got no speical mention in the bio.

The songs that were more well-known were Sweet November and Whatever it Takes (To Make You Stay). That last one sounds like a question asked on Yahoo! Answers :)

You have me wondering why you are interested in that song or the group that made it. I hope you let us know with 'Additional Information.'
