I agree she should not only be bringing food home for you, but your entire family as well. How cheap of McDonalds to not provide free food the the employees and their families. How dare these other people speak to you of morals when McDonalds is ripping the most vulnerable of our society off? They have these poor kids working for minimun wages and not taking care of them. I mean, they still have to pay for gas to get back 'n forth. What is wrong with these stupid idiots above me answering this question? Don't they realize that we have to build these kids self esteem and some how manage to get them to realize they are worth so much more that minimum wages!!! They are exploiting our kids. I am completely in shock that they don't receive food during work. I am boycotting McDonalds starting now....and I'm writing a letter to the BBB and the President of the McDonalds Corporation. They should be ashamed of themselves. It seems that they expect you to pay to drive your kid to work there, you should be sending them a bill for gas. In fact, I would do just that. If they at least paid for the gas then you would not be taking money out of your pocket to drive your kid to work there. These big corporations suck!! I think I'm just going to help myself the next time I go there to a free Big Mac. I'll teach them. Don't listen to these dufusses you are the best mother around, you are teaching your daughter to take what she is worth and not take any less. There should be more mothers around like you!! You Rock Mimi!! Thanks for setting a GREAT example for our kids.

Yes, I agree, she should be grateful you gave birth to her in the first place. I agree, how could you have time to cook when you are driving her to and from work, not like she will make enought their to buy a car, lol. Yes, make her walk for a week and then she will bring you tons of fun, and save some for me, oh, by the way, if she is such a goody two shoes, switch her shoes for not so goody two shoes while she is sleeping, that worked for me, lol.

What is WRONG with you all?? Hasn't anyone here heard of "the perks"???? every job has them, in this case it's the FREE FOOD! I can't count how many times I have been ripped off by a fast food place, especially Micky D's!! Do you really think it's going to cost the place that much? They'll never miss it, people! Yes, let her walk the walk..

Your kid is an inconsiderate tool! Shame on her for not wanting to do this. I think you should teach her a lesson and drine another half an hour in the wrong direction and then make her walk to work. She'll come around REAL quick.

Outstanding. I will stop by for my FREE! double quarter pounder with cheese and no pickles. They better not burn the m'fer either. Bottoms up on the fries. Can I bring my buddies too! I hope she works the drive through cause that would be easier to get free stuff.

I use to work at McDonald's myself in my 30's and i think it is a great starter job for young people, because of some of the felixability with the hours.Your daughter is completely right about the food issue. The employees, themselves don't even get free food,so why would you expect your daughter to steal food, cause that is what she would be doing if she hands over food to you, there is inventory on everything, down to the straws. It is up to you however concerning how your daughter gets to work and comes home from work, but like you said she is a teen, and if you being her mother doesn't see to her needs of transportation, how is she going to hold this job and become a responsible adult for what faces her in her future?I would personally ask for gas money on pay days and also start her a bank account to show her how things operate in the real world. It sounds like you are bitter about the whole situation,if so,maybe your daughter can share a ride with someone on the same schedule as hers.I use to take my son to meijers and i drove 50 minutes one way and i am glad that i did,he gave me gas money and to this day he has learn't what it means to be responsible and to work for things to have things, and he is very respectful.I never asked another thing from him either, this is your child you are talking about,we as parents are to be supportive,to keep our childern safe as possible and to teach them right from wrong! I think you have a good daughter by her alone just working and knowing the morals of stealing and being honest it's sad you can't seem to appreicate that quailty in her.Nothing in life is free anyhow, atleast not from where i see it.Love your daughter and be thankful for her. Some teens don't even want to get up in the mornings let alone work.Crock pots are also a great way to have dinners in if you don't have the time, you can throw alot into them and they simmer all day.I just hope you and your daughter's bond doesn't sour over trying to get a free meal from McDonald's!Good Luck to you both!

It's amazing to me how people can read a question and totally not get it. I think you're right. I worked at McDonald's (for 1.5 shifts - my manager sucked!) and I kinda wish my mom had demanded I give her free food. After all, it's because of her I was even alive to take the job, right???

What kind of crazy mother are you. At least I know she didn't learn her values from you. Stealing is wrong and should NEVER be accepted!! Why don't you give her some time to get payed and buy her own car to drive and leave her a lone.

What is wrong with your kid! Doesn't she know that by giving you all the free food you can eat she will be speeding up your inevitable heart attack. Thus giving her inheritance sooner so she won't have to work at McDonald's? Jeez, kids these days. They just don't think outside the x-box.

Make her young butt walk all the way! If you had a bus in your little greasy spot in the road, I'd make her ride it! And what's this crap about no food? She should be bringin' home bags o' burgers every night! You need to have a talk ol' pervis, the manager. He should be compensating you for gas to get her there! damn kids these days....
