Why can't liberals accept the fact that we are helping people in Iraq?

Why are they so eager to show everyone pictures of the injured, but don't want to admit that there are actually happy Iraqi citizens:

Look at the pictures at the bottom of the page and tell me that our efforts over there are all a waste!!

wyderp...I understand that my link is biased. I am just trying to show the liberals that like to post biased links to their questions and try to say that it is justifiable that I can do the exact same thing.

Koo Koo - If you can't think of one way that we have helped Iraq you are very misguided. We have saved an entire society from a leader who didn't believe in personal freedoms, who created rape rooms and gassed his own people. You claim that are president is so bad, and that the conservatives are so bad, take a look at the big picture instead of the narrow hallways of your very very liberal mind.

So you're going to sit there and tell me, with a straight face, that if the U.S. had gone to the Iraqi people in 2002 and said, "Hey guys, we will come and kick Saddam out of power for you, but in the process of doing so we will be killing around 20,000 innocent civilians, wounding another 50,000, and after that your country will be plunged into virtual anarchy for at least the next three years due to a rabid insurgency and political in-fighting between Sunni and Shiite factions, and there will be a car bomb going off in Baghdad about every 18 hours on average for at least three years also. Whatta ya say?" that the people of Iraq would have said, "Why sure, come on over and kick his butt out of here no matter what the consequences!" If you really believe that then you have been completely brainwashed by the US media, your own sense of patriotism, and probably your parents too. Either that or you're just plain stupid, so which is it?

dude, i'm sure there were plenty of happy iraqis there before we invaded too. But killing and maiming over 100,000 people doesn't solve any problems. As a liberal I do accept that saddam was a bad person(that we put in power) and that the people there are better off without him. But the ends don't justify the means. We just swatted a hornets nest with a rolled up newspaper and now we have more enemies that want to harm us. It is not our place to tell people in iraq how to live. How would you feel if a country invaded us, overthrew our govt and then occupied our country? You'd probably be happy like these iraqis your refering to huh? I mean our govt tortures and executes too.

I also have a question for you guys, conservatives always whine about taxes and how they'd be better off if they got to keep their money instead of supporting welfare or whatever(not to mention roads, and all the common infrastructure we all benefit from everyday), but we just bought iraq with our tax dollars. Just think of it like all of iraq is on welfare and your tax dollars are paying for it. Just because your beloved bush says its ok you don't even think about it. ITS COSTING US, THE TAXPAYERS, BILLIONS OF DOLLARS!! wouldnt you have rather kept all that money at home developing our infrastructure, or in your pocket? think about it...

Ok I ain't a liberal & ain't been since Vietnam but this war is costing too many lives! American lives. Not only that but gas is costing over $3.50 a gallon. Not only that but the more we help the more America is hated! And the people who will make money on the war are GW's friends! Halliburton and others, something smells like 3-day old Sushie there!

Libs want to help the citizens of Iraq. We knew that it would take more troops and better planning than the Bush Administraion was willing to give it.

Iraq used to be one of the most liberal arab countries. Women had the right to drive, vote, divorce, work, and not have to wear the veil. They also held cabinet posts. But now, if they're caught driving or voting or working or they've divorced their husbands or are not wearing the veil, they get beat or killed. Every right a woman had under Saddam is now being taken from them. So how have we helped them?

whoa. wait a minute. are you saying you look at a military website full of war supporters and consider that an objective look at the progress in iraq?!! i don't mean to take anything away from your evidence, because it is worth looking at, but come on! you need to reference a 100% unbiased source when you're making a point. your link is like saying "look, fox news tells the truth -- see, just click on this comment by bill oreilly!"

Because I also see the pictures of the unhappy Iraqi citizens mourning their relatives that were killed while shopping at the marketplace. And also because my brother-in-law is Iraqi and he no longer sleeps at night for he fears for the safety of his relatives that are in Baghdad.

And I don't think causing a country to be on the verge of a civil war is helping them.

I have an idea, why don't you ask the Iraqi people how they feel about our "help"? Especially those who have lost loved ones, children, spouses, parents, etc. because of this fiasco. Come on, any Iraqis out there want to fill her in on how you feel about all this?
