Pearl Jam
They've stayed true to themselves. Instead of selling out with videos and constant press coverage, they pulled back at their height, and focused on the music.They belong up there with Neil Young, Zeppelin and The Beatles because they never compromised their integrity, which is really all any of us have.
The music rocks.They've continually reshaped their sound, album after album, and are still making great, vital music 12+ years into their career. What else could you want? (2006 effort is spectacular as 1991's Ten)
There have been scores of imitators. Many Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder knockoffs have invaded rock radio since Ten.
Their concerts are first-rate and affordable. I love how the band can keep ticket prices low. It's unique in an era when most artists gouge their fans to the limit. Pearl Jam also has one of the best lives shows around. Did you see them on Live 8? Likewise, releasing their shows on low-cost bootlegs brings a new dimension to seeing one of their shows.
Maybe not the best ever, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Doors are just as good, but Pearl Jam definitely is arguable.

The Travelin' Wilburys. Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison. What more could you want in a band? Well, maybe Eric Clapton.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The gutairest ROCKS! The have a unique sound that I got hooked on. Stadium Arcaduim is AWESOME!

For me it's gotta be KoRn. As with many of their fans, KoRn's music saved my life.
