I think dumpweed has the best idea!
Seriously, I don't know about the other suggestions. Before you try it, talk to someone who knows bikes, like at a dealership. And do some more research before pulling out the ol' Black & Decker.
My suggestion - if you can't afford it now, start saving up for a good pipe later on.

buy a cobra muffler. they are loud and that's what you want, plus they have all the info on if you need to rejet, no guessing.
Why do you want louder anyway?
soon the law is going to enforce the loudness codes and you could be looking at a ticket or loss of your ride.

Take out the baffles. Some have screws on the very bottom of the pipes, near the end. Take them out and pull out the baffles. Some are spot welded on the bottom of the baffles ( as you look into the pipe ). These have to be ground off before pulling the baffles out. Yes, you may have to jet the carbs.

Drill out the bafels. Sometimes though, you need to rejet after doing so.

drill out the muffler. The more holes you have, the louder you get.
