The reason for this is simple: Most of the world is right handed, and in the old days a sword was on the left side of the body to be drawn by the right hand. Therefor you would ride your horse on the left side of the road so that you could defend yourself with your sword better.

No, I think that they have been driving on the right side since the beginning of automobiles, and that in fact Americans changed the seating. If you notice, a lot of "American" things are unique to this country-- such as our measuring system (inches and feet vs. meters), to our temperature system (F vs. C), and even certain words (favourite and colour to favorite and color). When we rebelled in the revolutionary war, we tried to make everything different than the British!

That has to be the biggest load of crap Ive heard in my whole life. Did u know that U.S is one of very few countries that drive on the right side and have steerings on the left, jus like ur the only ones using the english system which is pretty gay in my opinion!
