in the preference pane you can select which files to share. Any p2p will bypass a firewall so has some dangers. I have been using limewire since it started years ago and never had a problem. Put your phots etc in a seperate folder and you ought to be ok. if you are very wary back them up to disc and keep them off the hdd. Most people are looking for songs/vids and progs so your fotos wont really be of any interest even if someone got into your system. People highjack PCs to use them to send out spam etc not to nick stuff. I still think limewire is the best and i have tried all the others. I am a little mean as i turn it off when i am not using it to protect myself as much as i can and keep my bandwidth free.

Only the files you choose to share are open to the public. As you run the program for the first time, it will ask you which files you would like to share. Usually, a new folder will be created where you will store the files you download, and only those files will be available to the public.

There is one folder where all the stuff you download is saved. You can change it in your software's options. When you search on P2P file sharing, you are finding stuff from only those people's folders that they specify.
Use caution. P2P does open you up to the potential for viruses and spyware. As long as you have an antivirus program and adware removal tool, you should be pretty safe.

first time u run the application it will specify what folders you want to share.
i would recomend getting a decent anti virus scanner, and spyware scanner as p2p files can contain viruses an spyware.
as long as you follow common sence you should be fine, i would also consider using a firewall, and opening a port and let yur p2p application use that port

Every P2P app I've ever used lets you specify a folder to share. BitTorrent can be useful, especially if you're looking to get full albums or movies. It seems like most other apps put spyware on your PC.

You choose which folder(s) to share. You also, always share files that are currently downloading.

sturdy success on that one. Napster replaced into the most suitable considerable document percentage that did not contain p2p. All document stocks have p2p to get round diverse the guidelines now, when you consider that they could be able to declare they're only connecting people and do not have any of the unlawful archives that are being shared on their servers.
