Its probably exagerated figure, the estimate is about 150.000 before the destruction of Fallujah..
189-190 000 is a more accurate figure..regardless of the accurate figures, The war or iraq is a gratuitous act of barbarism upon one of the most helpless people
The american people who voted for Georges Bush should also bear responsiblity for these crimes..As a Canadian I cannot show more disgust.
This said I would like to point out to the neo-fascists warmongerer below that Bush that Bush is closer to nazims than you think; specially look at the last link, note, I have no reason to lie to you, I am not the government

If we never went there I don't think 2500 of ours and 10's of thousands of Iraqi would have been dead. We will keep running up he numbers though because Bush is going to stay the course. We must elect democrats this November to have any chance at putting a stop to the killing.

Does it really matter how many people we've killed? The point is that our people are dying in Iraq as a result of an unpopular war. Have you ever heard of Vietnam? How about guerilla warfare? That one ring a bell? That is what we are fighting. You can't win a war against people who use guerilla tactics. Yes, I want to spread democracy as much as you do, but is ramming it down people's throats the best way to begin?
And, for those of you who say that muslims are going to hell...well, they worship the smae god that christians do, just under a different name. The muslim people are the descendants of Ishmael, the son of Abraham by Hagar, Sarah's servant. Jews and christians are the descendants of Abraham's other son, by Sarah, Isaac. So, if they are all going to hell, then so are all of us christians.
Finally, I'll leave you with this thought. To those of you who say that number is wrong, you're right. It should be larger. This is because America is responsible for the fact that Saddam ever ruled in Iraq in the first place. WE put him on the throne. WE supported him. WE are ultimately responsible for the deaths of the people he killed.

I love it.
Pics are great. If they had the balls enough to fight for themselves, they wouldnt be going through this right now, would they?
USA is paying the bill for getting rid of Sadaam. Some civilian casualties are going to happen, because the terrorists hide among the poplulation, knowing, people like YOU would make a big deal out of civilian casualties.
If the people are hiding terrorists then they should turn them in, not live in fear of what might happen,
Once the terrorists figure out they cant hide in peoples houses anymore, it will be that much sooner to being done.

Blame Saddam and the insurgents that made it come to this. Not the U.S. Our soldiers are sacrificing their lives to try to give Iraq and stable and peaceful government. Why don't you move there and join the insugency and make it 250,001? (and that is a b.s. # ) If I post on the internet that I am the King of the planet by birth right will you site that as a fact too?

Why do you hate America enough to spread biased lies about it? Oh yes, HATE AMERICA. How concerned are you with the number of Iraqis murdered and beheaded by Islamo-Facists? Judging by your question, not at all. You appear to hold the 14th century savages blameless.
Newsflash, junior: We are going to bring freedom to Iraq. It's going to happen. It's inevitable. There's nothing you or your ilk can do to stop it.

I noticed the dates on the web page, I guess most of the deaths over the past 2 years has been by the "insurgents" actions.
Can we start counting the lives that have been saved by our US participation??

250,000 Iraqi dead is so grossly exaggerated it isn't funny. It's pathetic people are so willing to believe it, just because it fits what they wish to believe.
Grow up and seek truth. Get educated so you know when people are lying to you.
