im 15. i will be in a pageant (MN). could you help me think of causes that i could speak on and that would be doable if i won? id rather it not be a thing that i have to raise money for. it should be something that i could do or organize a volenteer group to do. not a thing where i go around asking for money. thanks!

try the one.org it a great group to join and not only that but if you fundraise money by getting people to buy the bracelets they sell you can send like 5 kids to school and save an entire family for malaria by selling 10 of those bracelets and not to mention help get better health care for them. if you need more info on it or other causes just go over to think.mtv.com and click on the global link and watch what they have (i recommend the angelina diary of what she saw in africa and check out the 'the click' PSA for the one.org it sends a powerful message) and it you need proof of it sign you name on the banner on the website and download one the psa for your pageant and better yet for your school. and think.mtv.com also has other causes just click on either politics or enviroment or education to find other great auses they have.

Do you want to organize a group for a one-time event, or an ongoing project?
You might want to organize a group to go to a retirement center and entertain. A lot of older people don't get a lot of visitors, and it would probably be greatly appreciated.
edit: Whatever cause you choose, be sure to research it first. For instance, despite what you may read below, in the United States we plant more trees than we cut down. Check out this site:

Create a website where local nonprofit groups can list openings and qualifications within their organizations.
You do the research on the groups to make sure that they are legit, and also to give a brief summary of their goals and what they do. Suggest you figure out some catagories to make it easier for those interested in volenterring matching up their interests.
Then when you are up and running you go to all the local papers including small neighborhood ones and get your website out there.

How about going to read to veterans in hospitals? We have lots of women and men coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan that are wounded, some coming in still from other wars. Visit them in hospitals. Spend a little time reading and visiting folks. It is sure to be a hit and honestly, veterans would be cheered by it. You know, support the troops in a very real way.

We have killed 64 million more trees than we have planted in the USA over the past 10 years. If we want to help the environment and cool the plant (if in fact global warming is real) we need to plant more trees.

Organize a FOOD DRIVE for your local food bank, have the students from the local highschools go and knock on doors and ask for donations for the food bank. They need food all year round!
