My lil fishy died the other day. :o(
I flushed him. I figured at least he'd be in his element. I wouldn't want to bury him and turn him into fish jerky.

*I* wouldn't do anything with it! I think living in a male dominated household, I should never have to do that sort of thing! However, they would be more likely to bury it than flush it I think. We had a fish years ago which died, that one was thrown in the bin.

It depends on the size. I have a 55gal tank and I have fish up to 12 years old and I do get attached to them and care a lot. I always make sure it is dead before I do anythng with it. I normally flush them if they are not too big. If they are too big I toss them in my lake. You do have the right to bury your fish if you like but make sure it is deelp as a stray animal WILL dig it up for dinner. Sorry you lost a firend in tankland.

If you liked this fish a lot, you would bury it. If if was just another fish, you would flush it. Personally, I would bury it.

I flushed my first Betta. This was the first fish I ever flushed.
His name was Howard I think .
Anyhow, when I flushed him he came back up and I had to use the plunder to fix the tolit and make it flush.
I tried doing this with the fish in it (because I did not want to pull it out)
By the time I got it to flush - Howard was in pieces.
It was pretty sad for me!
Sooo.. I freeze dead fish now until trash day and on trash day they get put out with the trash.

I bury mine. It not only is nice but it also gives back to earth and helps plants and trees. Flushing it is bad anyway, if it had some foreign disease you could be letting it into rivers and oceans and could maybe kill off tons of animals. And what if it gets into your drinking water?

I buried mine. I felt it showed more respect to the fish to bury it, than to flush it down the toilet.

Prefer to bury it. Fish is very good for the soil. If you don't have
a garden, perhaps a neighbour.
