It does not matter if a man has the body of an olympic swimmer, a speedo for recreational swimming is just unattractive.
I think it's because a man's body is not attractive in that way. Usually, there is an unsightly amount of hair around the pubic area, for example... or the gut may overhang it a bit...
Even with a very fit body, the penis is not a very attractive organ... useful, and fun... but not very attractive.
Women get away with wearing tight fitting clothes because we are smooth and curvy. Men are angular and have "parts that stick out" this makes for a naturally less attractive look.
Unless a girl or guy has a fettish for male genitals then I think most would agree Speedos should be a "no-no"

Well, here in the states of the united we are used to seeing the human male with more coverage on the bottom. The chest can always be bare especially if he has any muscles.I think it has something to do with the very masculine cowboy even if you are a gay cowboy you look macho. In Europe it is more accepted, that is what they have always seen. They used to also walk around with white wigs and fru fru shirts. We in USA started off that way and realized how bad it looked.Remember you also have to take toilet paper to Europe in some areas its like gold.

They are the most uncomfortable things to wear. I like looking at guys in them, but I don't like wearing them.

There's no stigma, but most people may not feel confortable using them. For example, I don't!

Even if I had a perfect body, which I don't - I would never wear a banana-hammock. They just look sooooo stupid.
