because society strongly identify human either being male or female, men are seen as musculine women are seen as feminine. When someone told you I have a baby, often the first question is it a son or a daughter or is it a boy or a girl. All children grow up identify with the same sex as role model. However, some homosexuals growing up identify the opposite sex as their role model, since they are attracted to the same sex as their role model, therefore they behave like their role model. e.g. gay male took after their mothers or sisters and lesbian took after their fathers or brothers. Few eventually change as they grow up when they are comfortable with who they are. While others are more comfortable with how they grow up and behave the same way. These days it does not matter how they behave. How we feel or react reflects more of our own comfort level with our won sexuality than it's a reaction towards homosexuals.

Most people answering this have no credibility. It's kind of like asking "Why do some girls have heavier periods than others?" And of course some ignorant guy will say "because they're bitchier." I don't talk high-pitched, but I have friends that do. The answer about something up their a-ss is just mean because they talked like that before they ever had sex. Everyone has their own unique vocal chords and unfortunately, some people just don't have very attractive voices. It's just like how some people can sing opera and how some girls have really deep voices. Now, if he's saying "Oh my god like that b-itch is such a hag." Not only is his voice very high, but it's also what he's saying. This is probably a result of him having spent most of his time around females growing up and now that is just the way he talks. Some guys choose to talk more valley-girlish and other guys have adapted to it. Just like with girls-some just can't help but say like every other sentence.

Some gay guys have sissy tendancies, some don't. I know some straight guys that have sissy tendancies, but still love the vajay. It's best to accept the person for who they are, whether they're in a wheel chair, or very tall or very short or very fat or thin or macho/manly or femmy/girly. If you can answer why people are all of these things, then I think you are able to answer why some gay guys sound and act like sissies.

It's just the way some gay guys are. That's really all there is to it. It's the same as some little girls being tomboys and some liking dolls.

I'm not a "girly" gay guy, but that's just the way I happen to be. There's no explanation as to why I'm not and some people are.

Everyone's voice is different. Nothing more, nothing less. You should hear some straight Europeans talk! And, truthfully, some gay guys do flame around the edges. That is their prerogative, they seek attention in strange ways, but then again, so do some straight guys with the overt macho ism that is equally noticeable.

It just helps with creating the whole atmosphere I guess. I've often noticed that for many guys, it's a "forced" thing too...not necessarily natural. For instance, I can go from my normal, god-given voice to, umm, my higher-voice personna very easily. It primarily depends on my mood and who I'm with. (like, when I give a speech at school, I tend to talk rather normally. but when I go into b*tch mode, you know, it's a whole different ball game. haha)

Well, I have to say that I have known straight men that have a higher than usual voice. The same for women with deep voices. I guess variety is what makes us all unique.

My uncle is gay and he doesnt put a female touch to his voice at all. It must be a preference. Or I always thought it makes that individual feel more like a woman? I dont know?

well the reason hes gay is probably because he has a high pitched voice and he decided to play along with everyone mocking him
