Which type of wood is best for an outdoor project?

I'd like to erect a memorial to Hilter in my backyard. I'm starting out with a 20 x 20 foot free-standing swastika made of wood, and could use some suggestions as to which wood would be the most durable and hold up the best, weatherwise. Cedar? Pressure-treated pine? Appreciate the help.

Gotta hand it to ya kid! You got a set of 'em. But only in America, freedom of speech in all forms. And why not. The supreme court agreed to allow the church of Satan to stand so why not a monument to one of its its most hated disciples. Instead of wood of any kind that can be "burned". May I suggest plastic. It is not biodegradable not easily destroyed by natural elements. I am just here to answer the question. NOT to pass judgment.

I always use pressure treated wood. Some folks use cedar, redwood or cypress but they are not a durable as pressure treated wood. This is specially true if the project is in contact with the ground or concrete. Whatever is in contact with the ground or concrete will wick up moisture and the bacteria will start eating the wood.

Then find a shrink because if you actually want to memorialize him you need serious help.

As for what wood, for this project use balsa wood it will burn the fastest.

I'd go with Cedar. It is more expensive but a more durable wood.

Ah, but bear does make a valid point. It sounds like you're looking at something ready-to-burn!

I'd pick the cheapest thing you can find. It won't last more than a week before someone burns it down. Just better hope they don't take your house with it.
I'd also suggest laying off the drugs you must be on.

You might as well build it out of aluminum stock, if it's wooden, someone is sure to burn it down.
