BCE-Before common era- replaced BC, Before Christ and CE for Common Era-replaced Anno Domini. So what event in time denotes the change from BCE to CE?

Same event---the birth of Christ. This is just the politically correct way of saying it. Jewish scholars and whatnot.

Most theologians and religious historians believe that the approximate birth date of Yeshua of Nazareth (Jesus) was in the fall, sometime between 7 and 4 BCE, although we have seen estimates as late as 4 CE and as early as the second century BCE. it is commonly taken at the first year after the birth of Christ and the starting point of CE. even tho BCE and CE are supposed to be non secular the event date of the change over is still very much based on that event.

Convention. I see what you're getting at, though. Keep in mind that the use of BC and AD didn't get established until LONG after, and the birth of Christ was then *estimated* retroactively. Even some Christian scholars believe that he may have been born as late as 7 CE.

Pretty much the same time, the birth of Christ. However it appears to look nonreligious.
