In usa there are more white gay people then african americans and why is that?
Please dont take me wrong,its just a question i am not being racist.I have noticed it myself.Dont me rude if you dont like my question please kindly ignore me.Thanks.take care all.

We need to break this down.

1) there are more white men then black men anyway, so statistically, of course there would be more white gays then black gays.

2) However if we look at PERCENTAGE instead of overall population, it get trickier. There are more openly gay white men then openly gay black men. But when you compare white men who have had sex with other men and black men who have had sex with other men (reguardless of labels) you get a very similar percentage. Stigma in the black community usually prevents black men who like men from identifying as gay. But they still like men just as much as white gay men.

I think the percentage ratio is the same. We just tend to see the white gays more because there are more white people. Meaning that since there are more whites thus there are more white gays. In the samer manner, less black gays visable because there are less number of blacks people. It just seems that there are more blacks wjho live in the USA due to their constant news coverage due to crime, sports, political views etc. the ratio is however the same between blacks and whites. This same theory can also be applied to all race, color, gender etc etc etc. ....hope this helps.

I don't think so. What may be true is that African-Americans who are gay are more likely to hide their sexuality. African-American culture puts a high positive emphasis on masculinity, and since homosexuality is often considered weak or feminine, African-Americans may be less likely to admit their sexuality to others.

I believe the current statistics in the US are: 20% black, 10% gay. That means that 10 % of blacks are gay, so if you add up the numbers, you still end up with more blacks than gays. Where do you get your information? Pick a new source.

Possible but I haven't seen thes statistics. There are many of us, but there are also the ones that just think its the cool thing to do and that is why they say they have been changed.
