I assume you mean when you take out the watermellon and
fill the cavity? I don't drink alcohol so I will tell you what I use.
Cleaned, sliced strawberries, mellon & watermellon balls,
blueberries, and any thing else you might want to add.

Vodka actually clashes with it. I would suggest some Clearspring (or Everclear), mixed 1:1 with Watermelon Schnapps, and injected 24 hours before The Grand Opening. This prevents clashing. After all, would you serve watermelon with hash browns of french fries? (Which are vodka's cousins.)

Also, if you cut a hole into the watermelon, pour in the everclear then plug the hole and let 'er soak for about a day, go back and cut it as you would for a fruit basket, use a melonballer on the flesh, then put it back in with other soaked fruit, like pineapple rings, oranges, grapes, etc. That's a fruit salad.

I am going to assume you mean as a desert......how about many other fruits, like grapes, cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries and such. I am sitting here in a very unairconditioned office and BOY does that sound good right now :)

If you are looking for a fruit salad--more melons, grapes, mango, papaya, etc.

If you are looking to make it for the over 21 crowd I suggest you go with vodka or ever-clear.

one option is hollow out, cut up pieces of watermelon and other fruits. Refill shell.

the other is a bottle of booze. Cut hole in top, save plug drain bottle of booze, replace plug, place in refrig polus side up and wait 24 hours. After 24 hours remove from refrig. cut up and enjoy!
