Of what did Adam’s sin consist? It was in connection with the “tree of the knowledge of good and bad.” Much conjecture has been put forward about this tree. Was it a real tree? What was the “knowledge” and the “good and bad”? Why would God put such a tree in the garden?
The Bible indicates that the tree was real, speaking of it as one among the fruit trees of the garden. (Genesis 2:9)
The tree was, in effect, symbolic of the boundary—or the limit of man’s proper domain. It was right and proper, yes, essential, that God inform Adam of that boundary. For a perfect man to eat of that tree would require the deliberate assent of his will. It would indicate the determination made beforehand that he would withdraw himself from subjection to God’s rulership, to go out on his own, doing what was “good” or “bad” according to his own decisions
The Bible does not say what kind of fruit it was. There were no poisonous properties in it. The fruit was wholesome, literally “good for food.” (Genesis 3:6) Hence, God’s prohibition regarding the tree simply emphasized man’s proper dependence on his Creator as Ruler. By obedience the first man and woman could show that they respected God’s right to make known to them what was “good,” or divinely approved, and what was “bad,” or divinely condemned. Disobedience on their part therefore would mean rebellion against God’s sovereignty.

I don't really think so. The only thing the scripture says about the tree of knowledge is that there was "fruit". This gives rise to stories about the tree being an apple tree, but that's merely us filling in the story with our imagination (no doubt influenced by the imaginations of artists and poets, who have filled in the blanks in paintings and writings).

The fruit is not named in Genesis. But as to the tree of life, we are told that God protected it from man (and man from it) with an armed angel after Adam sinned so he would not eat it and live forever in his sin.
Then, in Revelation, after Christ returns and man is in Heaven, God takes that tree of life back down off the top of the refrigerator, so to speak, and places it where all may eat.
It is described as producing a different fruit each of the 12 months of the year, and the leaves are for the healing of the nations.

No, nobody can say what kind of tree the Tree of the Knowledge was. Actually, the Tree of Knowlege and the Tree of Life were actually one tree instead of two.

you look lower than the concept that god has no needs or needs. god created the angels as perfect servants to comprehend him and to have as a bar or objective for his next creations. people were created with loose will, why you ask because if we were made with out it then our worship of him is hollow and worthless so certain god knew that putting the tree of understand-how there replaced into in all likelihood to our detriment yet purely after we incredibly had a decision ought to the worship we provide him be organic and useful. now the real question you should have requested is why does god choose worship. that is one the secret's of god i'd wager. the bible only says god needs it. I imagine in case you or I were god then we would opt for that too. its the purely component of fee once you recognize each thing, created each thing, and created time so that you're outdoors its effect. the way i look at that's god created loose will for outcomes. he already is familiar with the respond to those besides the indisputable fact that the very incontrovertible truth that results of determination ensue in any respect pleases god i'd imagine.

It wasn't a real tree. Genesis is allegory.

The moral of the story is that you should obey and choose ignorant bliss over knowledge. The story is designed to keep us complacent while those with power tell us what to do.

Fortunately, there those like Eve who would rather have knowledge.

Genesis 2:17 "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the day that thou eatest thereof"thou shall surely die"
good and evil = obedience proving what was good (Deut 6:24 ="And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is at this day"
Disobedience revealing what was evil (Romans 3:20 = tTherefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight; for by the law is the knowledge of sin".
The tree of the knowledge of good and evil had just that - knowledge of good and evil, the tree is Satan.
Man's bodies are referred to as having trunks, limbs.
The tree of life was alive, living, gave life for those who would partake - eternal life. It is good, symbolic of Jesus God. Genesis 3:22
= "And the Lord God said,"Behold the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil:and now lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever."

It was a fig tree. Where else would the fig leaves have come from? It also may have been the citrom, carob, or even wheat according to theTalmud.
