I do.
I understand people who come fleeing political, religious and other types of repression - and seeking asylum.
But what it boils down to with the *illegals* is this:
The moment you get a job, you're stealing. You've either stolen someone's social security number to get hired "legally" or you're getting paid under the table (yes, I know, Americans do this too, but they go to friggin' JAIL when they're caught).
When I hear that they send $20 BILLION a year back to Mexico, it boils my blood. They're draining our Medicaid/Welfare/Food Stamp resources, stealing the MOMENT they begin "work" here and then they PROTEST because people don't want to become a country of people who break the law the moment they step across the border?
My grandmother and my mother emigrated from Germany in 1958. They had a host family, my grandmother and grandfather had jobs lined up, they had enough money to live on for a couple of months AND they knew English. They began working the week after they arrived.
It just BURNS me that it CAN be done right. If there's a wait to get in, then WAIT. What kind of character does it show to just go, "Oh, well, you have laws, I really want to come over now, so I'll just come ANYWAY." America's going down the tubes with regard to education, manners and work ethic. I'm not real big on people whose regard for themselves is greater than their regard for how their presence can negatively impact others becoming a large part of this society.
Send the illegals back where they came from.

SHOULD be, or CAN be? Yes, they SHOULD, but that's entirely impractical. There are literally not enough law enforcement officers in the country to conduct such a round up even over a period of years, and that's if every officer in the country were used for that duty alone & all other crime was ignored.
Of course there are things we can do to encourage them to leave. The carrot & the stick. We can offer them a high probability to re-enter legally if they'll go home and get in line there. We can attack employers, but you won't like the results, and besides I saw some numbers that said 80% of illegal immegrants are employed by private home owners. There's a few other ideas floating out there. It's just that the laws we have now don't work, there's no way to make them work w/o reducing the minimum wage & union powers, plus all wages across the country to be competitive with other countries. We can put a lot of money into building the mexican economy so they CAN stay home. We just need a reasonable solution & right now no one knows what that is.

You are exaggerating just a little. Who hates the 14th Amendment? Illegals practically use it as a loophole to stick right here and a few men and women suppose that loophole will have to be closed because the disorders from unlawful immigration have expanded over latest years. When men and women used to immigrate to this nation (legally or in any other case) they did not have the entire social methods to sponge off of at our fee. Either they labored or they went hungry. Now they arrive right here and take talents of our social methods, healthcare and schooling tactics, do not pay revenue taxes, dedicate crimes, delivery medicinal drugs and many others. My ancestors came visiting at the Mayflower earlier than there used to be a United States. Are you definite your ancestors have been authorized?

I do. If you are an illegal and you are caught, you should get deported. I am a strong believer in that. There are a lot of immigrants that are trying to come into the United States legally and it is not fair to them if we let these illegal's stay in our country and make them citizens because they feel they are being treated unfairly. If you want to come and live in the United States, our arms are open to you, as long as you do it LEGALLY.

Certainly all criminals should be deported ... if they have been apprehended by the police, they know who they are ... and they can be deported post haste! The difficulty is ... how do we even begin to search for the others? One solution would be that everybody has to have an ID card ... which should only be issued to legal immigrants and U.S. citizens ... and the police or employer etc. should have the right to ask for it to be produced ... I hear some people saying that it would infringe on our rights, etc., etc. but I'd rather pay that price than having to pay for untold millions of illegal aliens ....

I happen to be one of those people who think they should be deported. My husband use to be able to have more work than he could handle and since all of the illegals have come here it has been a lot harder to make ends meet. No one wants to subcontract to people who are not as cheap as the Mexicans, they can afford to work so cheap since they usually live more than one income to a household.

There is a right way and a wrong way to come into the United States from another country. Regardless of the reasons for coming, there's a proper way to do it. If anyone really wants to come to the US and stay, they should go through the proper channels. They exist for a reason. If they're here illegally, send 'em back!

I think that everyone has a right to be in this country if you are caught here illegally then you should be offered the chance to stay and get your green card not just instantly deported.

How many times must I say this "Legal is Legal and Illegal is Illegal" Do people really know the difference. If you are here illegally then you should go back to where you came and enter the USA legally somehow. Wrong is Wrong and Right is Right!
Haven't your parents taught you anything. Wake up!

I am an immigrant myself. My family went through MOTNHS of hell living in several European nations while the immigration process took place before coming here. It was worth it, and we would do it all again because America is the greatest thing that ever happened to us.
I believe that we need to deport anyone and everyone who does not come here legally--it's the only fair way.
