Theasy answer would be to say "yes every time" but the fact of the matter is, nowadays I am more cautious. It is easy to misread a situation and get the wrong end of the stick.
That said, if it were completely obvious someone was getting picked on then, yes I would have to and have done in the past

I would and have stepped in. Bullies are cowards. When they see someone who is not going to just run away, they often look for a way out themselves. Gets my blood up when bullies pick on the weak. Really does. Best step then is to find the biggest of the bullies and to either take him down right then or to turn him around so much that he has become an ally against the rest of the crowd (much more fun).

I would certainly weigh up the scene first. If I saw any weapons or anything lying around that could be used as a weapon, then I would call the police before I intervened. No-one should be a victim. We all have the right to feel safe at all times. No-one ever has the right to take that away from us.Bullies have often been victims themselves or have become bullies through learned behaviour- often in their family environment. They are often cowards who are desperate to feel empowered. I pity them!

My mum told me being a boy, that I was stronger than girls and shouldn't hurt them and it was my job to protect them. So on my first day at school I pulled this guy off a girl - who was being bullied. He beat the **** out of me! The teachers watched - the girl didn't even say thank you. I still take on bullies - but less violently. I'm thinking of suing some right now and taking their money! I still hate the bastards - must be a habit now.

I’m very tiny and thin I don’t think me stepping in could help.. other then me getting a black eye (not needed). Although if I was a big body builder I would love to beat people up who bully others …and maybe even through them around a bit..:)

Yes I would step in, and have stepped in many times.
When it is one on one I usually wait to see what happens, i dont usually get involved in fair fights, but when it comes to seeing someone being ganged up on, I will not tolerate that sh*t, and I will get into the middle of it.
If someone is just being picked on, like the school kids always do, I wait and see how they handle it, I myself have picked on people, but only those who can take it, but i do remember this kid in grade school, such a nice kid, everyone made fun of him because he was poor, and kind of geeky, I stood up for him and protected him for the rest of the school year, he was just so nice, I couldnt let that happen to him.

You have to step in unless it's physically dangerous. In that case, you need to escort the bullied person to safety without engaging in or escalating the conflict. If this is not possible, you need to get help. You can't pretend not to see what you have seen.

I would step in. As someone who was bullied throughout middle school and high school, I can't stand to see anyone being pushed around by someone else.

I'm pretty small and useless, but if I thought someone was seriously getting hurt, I think I'd try and step in. If I couldn't do anything to prevent it, I'd probably try and help pick them up afterward and make sure they were okay.
Ironically, if I saw someone kicking a dog ,I'd fly for their throats in an instant.

Depends on the situation. I'd never just walk past and forget about it- I couldn't, If it were just some kids messing around I'd go straight up to them and I have in the past.
Something more serious I'd walk past but call the cops straight away. I'd never forgive myself if something really bad happened.
