You are pretty tall for age 11. 130 lbs should be very close to perfect for someone who is 5'3". At 11, so much is happening inside of your body. It makes me sad that you think you are fat. We all have issues with how we are made but if you are so down at this age, I am afraid of your focus as you grow up. Too much thought in this area can be so depressing that you will eat more and more of things that are not good for you. Instead of looking at the scale, why not find something really fun to do? Sports, ballet, or dancing? Dancing develops grace and assurance. You need to get active in something that keeps your mind off weight and into something that is fun for you and fun for others. You could take a babysitting class or volunteer to work with kids or pets or with needy people. Start a business! You can do it.

Your body is going through a major transformation right now. I wouldn't be overly concerned. There is a very good chance you will look completely different in a year or two. Sure you've gained weight, but your proportions are changing, and you'll likely gain more height as well.
And you know something? Most adult women who are 5'3" would be happy to only weigh 130 pounds.
You are NOT fat.
You are just maturing.
(The next time you see your doctor, you should ask the same question to her or him. I think you'll receive a similar answer.)

I think that 11 is too young to be worried about your weight. If your physician tells you to lose weight and gives you a diet to follow do it. If not wait until you have finished growing before considering a diet. This should be at about age 18 for a girl or 20 for a boy.
My daughter joined "Weight Watchers" at 21 and she has lost 28 pounds so far. She has 60 pounds in total to lose so she's half way.

aww.. first of alll. youre 11. i weighed more when i was 11 then i do now. (im 16) youre growing so typically your weight should melt off. however, i think the reason i weighed more when i was 11 because i began to excersie when i was like 12 or something i dont know i was going into 8th grade. i think you should eat healthy and ride your bike or go swimming. the summer going into 8th grade i ran 20 minutes 4 times a week. but dont worry kid... its not really bad.... and what you do have is most likely baby fat.

No, I don't think you're "fat." But if you feel that way, try to eat healthier (more fruits & veggies, fewer salty & sugary snacks...you can find a lot of internet resources on healthy eating) and exercise. You're still growing so you're too young for intense dieting, but by being healthy you will not only feel better about your body size, but you'll have more energy as well. Just, please, don't overdo it, or you can damage your body for life. I'm sure you are a lot more beautiful than you realize!

I'm 13 yr boy and i weigh 175, but I have a lot of muscle, muscle is more dense than fat, so i have friends same size that weigh less.

i'm 13 and i'm just under 100. thats also because i'm 5'1. people tell me i'm skinny and I have chicken legs. Be proud of your weight. that doesn't mean to keep eating every hour, but just keep it under control. cuz,you know its better to be "fat" & in shape than to be fat& lazy. strut yo stuff and make your weight look beautiful.

Honey - talk to your parents about your concern. Have them bring you to the doctor and they will help you with any weight prob;em you have. Meanwhile, just eat right and get some exercise.
