Isn't a school bus engine bigger than a Pinto?

I didn't know there was a 77 Pinto still out there. Why would you put a school bus engine in a Pinto? The Pinto would be front end heavy and slower than with the 4 banger. Try a T-Bird Turbo 2.3 from the eighties. It is a drop in swap.

If you could get it in the Pinto! LOL Go buy yourself a different car because Pinto's have a tendency to blow up if you are in a bad rear ending accident because of where the gas tank in located.

Probably not. The school bus engine is designed for torque not speed. You can pull a big boat though. Try a small V8 like a 289 or something.

only if you kept the original tranny. if it's diesel, you're going to end up needing a new tank, computer and possibly exhaust system. Also, be sure to buy a braced tank because pintos have a reputation for exploding in accidents
