A family took their 4 yr old son on "Mission Space" at epcot, and the boy died after riding it. An autopsy determined that he died of an irregular heartbeat linked to a natural causes. "People with the condition are at risk for sudden death throughout their lives, especially in physically or emotionally stressful situations", a medical examiner said. The family said he had heart problems in the past. Disney has signs up all around the ride saying if you have, or had any heart problems dont ride. So do you think it is wrong for the family to sue disney even though disney had signs warning them, and the family knew about the 4 yr olds heart problems?

There is absolutely no way that Disney is at fault for this. If the parents didn't know that he had a heart problem then it would be a tragic accident. If they knew then they are responsible. Either way there is nothing to come from suing Disney. It makes them look like whores. They want money from the deep pockets to replace their son.

Very wrong to sue Disney. Besides, at 4 years old you shouldn't put them on any stressful ride. Maybe Disney should put an age restriction on the ride, maybe 9 or so. We went on it twice last month (age 40 and age 13) People are sue happy, I'm so sorry for the loss of their son, but to blame Disney won't bring him back. I don't want them to blame themselves either, but The kid already had Heart problems and Yes it's posted and verbally mentioned the entire time your in line and not just on that ride

This lawsuit is completely bogus. The family is claiming that their small son shouldn't have been allowed on the ride. I'm sorry parents, if you put your kid on a ride surrounded by signs and announcements (in various languages) about the severity and possible effects, you take the results on yourself.

Plus the fact that this kid had a heart defect (granted it was unknown, but that sure as heck isn't Disney's fault!) and it was an inevitable death. Whether it was on Mission Space at Disney, ona rollercoaster elsewhere, or simply playing hide-n-seek with his dad, this kid would have encountered some serious trouble very soon in his life.

We all feel bad for the family for losing their sone, no one is disputing that. However, Disney did not act in a negligent manner. I've been on the ride, I've seen the signs and heard the announcements, and talked to people who had just gotten off. I will not go on it again (ugh, so sick for so long!) but it is not that intense.

This family is trying to profit off their sons death. Nothing else to it.

Yes, I think it is wrong for the family to sue Disney. Disney had put up warning signs for people with heart problems, and the family knew their son had heart problems. It's not Disney's fault he died.

It is no way Disney's fault if the family ignored the signs warning them about possible risks for people with heart problems.

The family is definitely at fault, not Disney. They chose to take the risk even though they knew. I have a real problem with people who know they are putting their children at risk, but choose to go ahead with the bad idea anyhow, then try to blame everyone else whether for the $$$ or to feel absolved of the blame.

I totally agree with what JEFFBEV said -- suing Disney is clearly the wrong thing to do in a case like this, and it will never replace their son. I'm sure they loved and miss their son, but taking advantage of his death like that for their own financial gain is horrible, and it's not going to bring him back.

It's absolutely wrong. Only a total idiot could go anywhere like that and not know about the risks to a heart patient.

It is wrong for them to sue. The parents should be charged with murder.
