Here in California, they seem to barter everything and requesting discounts all the time, generally speaking of course!

I can understand it being done over in THEIR country.. but in America, things are different. Why must they push, even when they're already getting a discount from a service station???

Because it's par of their culture. If you go to a store or a market in those countries the sellers will always give you a higher price and you'll have to start bargaining. Finally, you'll get a discount, and will feel like you won something!

It's some kind of sporty race, the one that gets tired first has to accept the price of the other.

:)

Well i am Middle Eastern and since you are generalizing that makes us bad people for wanting to save money.

Now not only are we terrorists, suicide bombing , hostage takers. We like to save a buck or two along the way to hit the dollar store.

You really have a discerning eye, good for you!

it may be part of their culture to barter with venors. in the open-air markets they probably do that. in fact in some cultures it's rude NOT to barter with the venders.
