Like gay marriage. I mean you can have your opinions, but why does it have to become a law?

I believe gays should be allowed to marry, as well. But some people out there want to write laws that will prevent that from happening.

The only things that become law that people disagree with are things that a very frightened majority disagree with. The "land of the free" is anything but free. Great men like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and other men who fought to make this the Land of the Free would be quite disgusted with what today's politicians believe are important issues.

Well, the current law prevents them from marrying. This isn't someting new. What is new is that gays are coming out and stating that they want to marry. So, THEY are the ones forcing a new law. THEY are the ones forcing their opinions on traditional, grounded laws and the "opponents" are simply attempting to maintain the status-quo.

When a lot of people share the same opinion, and have the political power, or money to announce it to the world, it will become one of two sides that will show a strong opinion about the topic in question.

Like you said, for Gay marrige:

There are numerous people who support it 150% (I, being one of them). There are people who will rally together to have their opinion known, heard, and hopefully accepted. This also goes for the people who disagree with gay marraige. If they have the support, money, and/or political power to bring it to the people's attention, the WILL!

Typically these sorts of "Opinion Wars" turns into laws-to-be, only because the government sees it as a hotly debated topic, and MUST be taken care of in a politcally correct way.

It doesn't have to become a law. That is why we have Congress and the Senate, to make laws to govern our country. It is quite a long process to pas a law. If you disagree with something about to be voted on to become a law, call your Congressman or Senator and tell them how you feel about it.

Because Gay couples deserve equal protection under the law. It's not a moral issue, it's a legal one. You shouldn't be treated different legally based on your sexual preference.
