What do you think the impact on the US would be if everyone wised up and cut back or completely stopped eating at fast food restaurants? (Good or bad consequences..)

Good and bad consequences. Good that America will be less obese, I think, because people will have to put some effort to cook 1st rather than just grab it from the counter. That itself already burns some calories, exercises someone mind on what to buy at the market, what to cook and the effort to wash the dishes. Good that all the children will have nothing to complain about their lunch box because there's nothing out there to compare. Good that people will start taking interest in reading a lot of different recipes and be more creative and open mind.

Bad that a lot of people will be jobless, the economy will be in turmoil and then we will start wishing that we supported the fast food industry in the 1st place.

Fast food restaurant is not necessarily a bad thing. It won't be bad if everyone still supports this industry by buying the healthier version in the menu (salad, etc.). May be by doing that we will encourage the Fast food industry to develop more of healthier menus and as the result we don't have to worry about our economy. :D

Good for people in the short term, due to weight loss etc, but bad in the longterm due to the impact on the economy - the businesses would fail and therefore their franchises would fail and therefore the economy as a whole would suffer due to the magnitude of the impact of fastfood restaurants on U.S society at the current time

The US would probably be a whole lot healthier! The problem now days is that nobody has "time" to cook so they just pick up something on their way to whatever.

The government wouldn't like it because they can control us less. Fast food is bad for your health and wallet.

Doesn't matter.

People would still be making 1 pound cheeseburgers at home.
