You would need to know when she's ovulating. A great resource to figure this out is Fertility Friend (http://www.fertilityfriend.com). This website is a charting website which tracks her BBT (Basal Body Temperature), CM (Cervical Mucus), and other symptoms that occur around ovulation time. You want to start having sex 2-3 days prior to ovulation, and continue to have sex until 1 day after ovulation.
Contrary to the apparently popular beliefs of other posters, this is different for every women, and NOT necessarily 10 days before the next period or 14 days after the last one. For instance, I ovulate around Day 17. If I was having sex assuming ovulation on day 14, I'd be too early. Also, a majority of women have 12-14 day LPs (luteal phase), so having sex 10 days before a period would be too late.

Try having her take her basal body temperature. To do this she would record her temperature first thing each morning for a month. Her temp is the highest when she is ovulating. Or she could take an ovulation predictor test which can be purchased at any drug store. Then try every other day - more than three days, your sperm will die off and you will have low quality, and closer than 36 hours apart you just won't have the quantity for the job.

To get pregnant you must have sex on a day that her eggs are being released.
After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into her mouth and check her body temperature every morning before she starts turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that her eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex.
After having sex she must stay in bed for about 30 mins with her knees bent up so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.
You must save your sperms in the testacles for at least 5 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

Ovulation usually occurs 5-8 days after menstruation. Usually best to try every other day during ovulation. See www.mymonthlycycle.com Also you can buy Ovulation test kits to find out for sure when she is ovulating(releasing an egg). Hope this helps!

There are all kinds of free ovulating calendars on the web. Download one, and fill in the information, and it will tell you the best day to try.
Good luck, I have a six month old and a 3 1/2 year old, and you can't describe how much you will care about your children.

i think you and your wife should sit down and talk about your baby plans because she might not be ready for a baby just yet, or you can just ask her.
