As it stands after today's games, that's how the Groups look and Germany v England is a distinct possibilty.

Although home-advantage doesn't always matter in a Germany/England rivalry, Germany is going to win that game and that home court advantage will help. Both received a boost with the return of Ballack and Rooney, but England have to show a lot more because they boast a complete team on paper. They supposedly have a very good goalie (who is said to be a good penalty kick stopper). I'm not convinced with the few plays he was involved in vs T&T. He didn't seem to good coming out of the goal line. Then there's the midfield, one of if not the best on paper, but they're not sharp playing off of their forwards. Then there's Beckham. I've never paid much attention to him but seeing him play I don't know how people say soooooo much about him. His right footed crosses/free kicks are probably the best in the world, but, if you ask me, that's all he has: He can't defend, he can't header, he can't kick with his left foot, so he's got a lot to prove to live up to everyone's expectation. England's frontline needs Rooney so I won't peg on them without him. The defense hasn't been tested much but they've been solid when required. So with England having a lot more to prove in my opinion, I don't think they'll quite do it against a German team who although isn't at its best form, it's always a very dangerous team in a world cup. My prediction: Germany 1, England 0.

Germany will not play England in round 2!

Germany will win their group and so will England and if you look at the draw winners play runners up!
